How to Use Pinterest for Home Decorating
How to find your decorating style and pin your way to a beautiful home
Before you even start to decorate or plan what you want to do, you must know what you like. You must know your decorating style.
Even if you use an interior designer, the first thing they will ask is what's your style and how do you want your home to look?
Now I'm not saying you have to label your style "Hampton's Style", "Coastal Style" or "Tropical Style", you just have to find your own unique style.
Pinterest for Home Decorating will help you find your Decorating Style.
When you truly know your style, you can decorate with greater confidence.
You will find it easier to make decorating decisions.
Your Instructor
I'm Kylie. I'm a qualified interior designer, a mother to two, and a gal that just loves to decorate homes.
I've been renovating and decorating since I was 18 years old when I painted my bedroom and made my first set of window blinds, and I'm still going :)
I love to share my expert decorating tips with you, I've made a lot of mistakes, and learnt a lot about decorating over the past 25 years, and I want to help you so you don't have to make the same mistakes. Your dream home may feel like it's a long way off, but you can create a beautiful home for yourself one project at a time.
First things first. You need to find your decorating style, and it just so happens that I can help you with that.
What will I learn?
In this course you will learn:
- How to set up a Pinterest account
- How to Set up your Pinterest profile and create useful boards
- How to pin or save images to your board, even when there is no Pin It button or you find the image on Instagram
- How to analyse your saved images to determine your decorating style
- How to use Pinterest to plan decorating projects in your home
How long will it take?
There are 5 lessons in the course, with a short 5-10 minute video in each. You can work through these at your own pace.
You will need to allow yourself some time to build up a collection of pins before you can start to analyse them. It won't take too long as pinning can be quite addictive.
If you've already been using Pinterest for a while, you can skip lessons 1 & 2, but be sure to check out some of our great pinning tips in Lesson 3, before moving onto lessons 4 & 5.
Course Curriculum
Is this course for me?
Do you feel overwhelmed thinking about what is your decorating style? When you look at your rooms, do you struggle to envisage what it could look like?
There are so many design styles out there, it can be hard to know which style will suit your lifestyle and personality the best.
If you follow all the tips in this eCourse, you will finally be able to figure out your design style. You will be able to 'see' how your room can look, and know what you need to achieve the look you're after.
You won't second guess yourself so much and wonder if you made the wrong decision and wasted your money on something that won't work in your room.
I struggled with Pinterest before doing the course and hardly used it at all. Instantly, now I am using it to help me with a home renovation my husband and I are about to embark on. I can also see the potential ahead for further use of this great tool.
As there are multiple rooms in our renovation I can keep information in a much more structured way then I previously did. The beauty of it all is that the information is retrievable on any of my devices as well and that information can be share with others.
I can’t thank you and DIY Decorator enough!!!!!!!!
